About Aplomb Ballet Artistry

At Aplomb Ballet Artistry, we believe serious ballet training should develop more than technique. Our goal is to educate dancers who understand their craft, take an active role in their own development, and learn to approach their work with discipline, curiosity, confidence, and artistry.

Our classical training follows the Vaganova curriculum, a comprehensive system designed to develop strength, coordination, musicality, artistry, and technical proficiency progressively over time. We believe its principles offer an exceptional foundation for dancers of different ages, abilities, and aspirations. Rather than measuring students against one another, we help each dancer understand where they are, what they are working toward, and how to make meaningful progress.

Small classes allow us to teach with detail and intention. Our schedules are carefully structured to provide both the duration and weekly frequency students need to learn, practice, receive corrections, and build physical capacity. Rehearsals for performances and competitions are generally scheduled separately so that essential class time remains devoted to training.

We also believe a dancer's education is strengthened by exposure to exceptional artists and teachers. Aplomb cultivates relationships with experienced professionals who mentor our school leadership and enrich our students' education through master classes, residencies, coaching, and guest instruction.

Students in Levels 2–5 participate in an annual practicum examination, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate their progress and helping teachers evaluate their continued development.

Performance is an essential part of that education. Throughout the year, our dancers have opportunities to perform in classical repertoire and original productions, applying what they learn in the studio to the larger work of becoming thoughtful, capable, expressive artists.

At Aplomb, the goal is not simply to teach students ballet. It is to teach dancers how to learn, how to work, and how to understand the artist they are becoming.
